Connelly appointed Assistant Republican Leader

Illinois Senate Republican Leader Bill Brady announced today the appointment of Senator Michael Connelly (R-Naperville) to the position of Assistant Senate Republican Leader.

“Today, I am proud to appoint Senator Michael Connelly to my leadership team as an Assistant Senate Republican Leader,” said Brady. “Having worked alongside him since he joined the caucus in 2013, I have been impressed with his dedication to his constituents, service to the state of Illinois, and his focus on creating a more fiscally healthy state for future generations.”

“I am honored to have been asked to join the leadership team, and look forward to continuing to serve the people of my district as I take on this new role,” said Connelly. “In recent years, our state has faced enormous challenges, and we have a lot to do to address them. I look forward to working with the rest of the leadership team, the Senate Republican Caucus, and colleagues on both sides of the aisle to move Illinois forward.”

Senator Connelly has represented the 21st District in the Illinois Senate since January of 2013 and previously served in the House from 2009 to 2012.

In the Senate, Connelly serves as the Minority Spokesperson for the Insurance Committee and also serves on the Criminal Law Committee, Judiciary Committee, Labor Committee, Telecommunications & Info Technology Committee, and Veterans Affairs Committee. Additionally, Connelly serves on the Special Committee on State and Pension Fund Investments and was recently appointed to the Tax Increment Financing Reform Task Force.
